MANCHESTER, CT — A little of kittens was safe and sound Tuesday after being rescued by Manchester first responders the previous evening.

While on a call for service Monday evening, Manchester officers were alerted by a resident about a litter of kittens that appeared to not only be abandoned, but stuck in a drain, police said.

Officers and firefighters came to the rescue and teamed up to remove the drain grate and collect the kittens, which were then brought to Bolton Veterinary Hospital for care, police said.
