Bouncing Tire Wreaks Havoc On I-84 On North Central Connecticut
A wayward tire bounded into a car along a busy stretch of Interstate 84 in North Central Connecticut.
MANCHESTER, CT — A loose tire slammed into a car along a busy stretch of Interstate 84 in North Central Connecticut, state police said.
The crash took place just before 2 p.m. Friday, state police said.
According to a crash report, a 20-year-old Newark, NJ man was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry east on I-84 in Manchester.

Suddenly, a tire came rolling onto the eastbound side of the highway from the westbound lanes and slammed into the driver's side doors of the Camry, according to a crash report.
The driver escaped serious injury and refused medical attention at the scene, state police said.

State police are unsure just where the tire came from. They said witnesses to the accident can contact them at 860-896-3200.
