MANCHESTER, CT — A motorcyclist was seriously hurt Sunday during a crash in Manchester, police said.

According to a news release, at 1:59 p.m. on Sunday, Manchester officers responded to the area of Grant Road and Hartland Road for a report of a motorcyclist lying in the roadway.

The officers arrived at the scene, they located a 21-year-old man from Manchester who had sustained serious injuries, according to a new release.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was traveling south on Grant Road when he lost control and crashed near the intersection with Hartland Road, police said. The Manchester Fire Department responded to provide on-scene medical care and the injured motorcyclist was
subsequently transported to Hartford Hospital, according to a news release.

The crash remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has additional information can call Officer Nicholas Sinopoli at 860-533-8620.
