MANCHESTER, CT — An suspended and accused drunken driver is due for a second court appearance next week in connection with a 120 mph chase in Manchester this month, records show.

He has been in custody in a $55,000 bond in connection with the Oct. 8 incident, records show. He is due back in court on Oct. 21, according to the state judicial system.

At 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 8, state police on the westbound side of Interstate 84 encountered a car speeding by a 120 mph near Exit 63, according to an arrest report. A trooper gave chase, but had to terminate the pursuit, according to an arrest report.

The driver, a 29-year-old Manchester man, was located shortly after in a local driveway, according to an arrest report. He tried to elude state police, but his car slammed into a curb and stopped in the process, according to an arrest report.

He was subsequently charged with driving while under suspension, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving at 85-plus mph, driving under the influence and a lane violation, records show.
