MANCHESTER, CT — A Manchester police officer's foot was run over during an unruly traffic stop early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The incident took place at about 3:15 a.m. on Rachel Road, police said.

A white Acura TL was pulled over, but the driver, while fleeing the scene, first hit the push bumper of a Manchester police cruiser and then hit the officer's foot, police said.

The officer is "ok," police said.

A search commenced in the direction the driver fled — in the Hillard Street area — but no one was located, police said.

The scene was cleared by 9 a.m., and police later Tuesday morning were still investigating the incident.
