Great Path Academy, a middle college high school established in 2002, is an inter-district magnet school. It offers students an educational experience that bridges the gap between high school and college by providing opportunities to enroll in college classes. The school is designed to provide an exceptional and innovative learning environment that helps students from diverse backgrounds develop the skills and knowledge needed for success in post-secondary education.

According to MCC Dean of Student Affairs and member of the Great Path Academy Governing Board Dr. G. Duncan Harris, “The college is excited about expanding this opportunity to the families of 80 ninth-graders that will be added this fall. Our goal is to assure that our students have the requisite skills to perform well once they reach college and to increase college-going and completion rates. In fact, 98 percent of our graduates enroll in college.”

May 25 is the deadline for families to submit an application for this unique educational opportunity to the state Regional School Choice Office. Applications are available at http://www.choiceeducation.org or at the Regional School Choice Office, 165 Capitol Ave., Room 270, in Hartford.
