MANCHESTER, CT — The long Memorial Day weekend with a trifecta of utility pole damage in Manchester.

Fife officials said that, at At 3:18 a.m. Friday, crews were dispatched to the area of 585 Center St. for a motor vehicle accident.

A vehicle struck a utility pole and severed it, according to fire officials. The impact then damaged two more utility poles, one of which was severed, fire officials said.

One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.

Center Street was closed between Olcott and McKee streets until repairs could be made by utility crews.
