Inventor, Raised in Manchester, Pitches Bed Warmer on Shark Tank
Mark Aramli was inspired in part by his mother's experience in her drafty home in Manchester.
An inventor raised in Manchester didn’t get a deal Tuesday night on the ABC television program “Shark Tank,” but the bed warming (and cooling) device he created has already started selling.
Mark Aramli, who now lives in Newport, RI, told the Hartford Courant that his device heats up air (or uses room-temperature air for cooling) and blows it between the sheets from a corner at the foot of the bed.
The device, which retails for $499 to $1,100 (depending on various features) lets a sleeper control bed temperature without having electric wires in bed, which avoids concerns about a possible fire risk, according to the report.

Aramli, who has a bachelor’s degree from the UConn School of Engineering and a a master’s degree in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has worked on building heating and power systems for buildings, the newspaper reported.
Aramli’s company, Bedjet.com, has already sold 350 of the units pre-ordered, out of the first batch of 600, and others have been shipped to retailers, according to the article.
