MANCHESTER, CT — Independence Day is here and there are still a few fireworks shows left for Manchester residents to see.

4-6 - Lake Compounce annual fireworks.
4 - New Britain's "Great American Boom" fireworks display.

5 - Fireworks with the Hartford Yard Goats.
5 - Talcott Mountain Music Festival: (rain date July 6), the Hartford Symphony Orchestra presents its annual "Celebrate America" concert, led by the esteemed Hartford Symphony Orchestra music director Carolyn Kuan. The patriotic extravaganza, accompanied by a fireworks display, will feature a guest artist to be announced.
6- Manchester Fireworks/Dutch Fogarty Independence Day Celebration: The event will be staged on the grounds of the CT State Community College Manchester (Manchester Community College). Admission and Parking to the event are free although those able to donate to help defray costs will be afforded an opportunity at parking lot entrances. The James "Dutch" Fogarty Fourth of July Celebration committee is celebrating 39 years of legendary live music, kid’s zone activities, market place offerings, food, family, friends and fireworks-filled fun. This annual get-together starts at 4 p.m. and goes until the last rocket lights up the sky at 9:55 p.m.
5-7 - Enfield Fourth of July Celebration: A three-day Fourth of July celebration at no charge, including music, parade, races, demonstrations, kid's ride's and games.
9 - July in the Sky, Vernon: Viewing areas complete with games, music and booths featuring town organizations will be set up in Downtown Rockville and Henry Park. There will be a charge to enter the park. The rain date is Wednesday, July 10. Activities begin t 6 p.m. at both locations and fireworks begin after 9:15 p.m. when the sky is dark enough.
