Manchester Cops Identify Driver Who Died After Being Located In Running Car

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police said a 24-year-old Windsor Locks man died after being located unresponsive in a running car early Tuesday morning.

According to an incident report, at 3:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Irving Street and Woodland Street after they received a call about a vehicle idling on the side of the road with an unconscious driver inside.

Upon arrival, officers located a man, identified as Jordan Patterson, 24, of Windsor Locks, seated in the driver’s seat. Officers and responding medical personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures, but despite those efforts, Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said Patterson had sustained a single gunshot wound to the torso.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident and no arrests have been made.

Road closures could be in effect on Woodland Street between Broad Street and Homestead Street and Irving Street from Woodland Street to Chambers Street while investigators worked at the scene.
