MANCHESTER, CT — Coronavirus cases are increasing at a dramatic rate in Connecticut despite the lack of available testing. The state most recently reported a daily positive test rate of 20 percent on Thursday.

Manchester had 68.6 average daily cases per 100,000 residents and a positive test rate of 12.90 percent between Dec. 12-25, according to the state Department of Public Health. There were 49.2 average daily cases per 100,000 residents in the previous two-week reporting period. It’s important to note that a few cases can have a large impact on a municipal case rate, especially for small towns.

Manchester recorded 458 new coronavirus cases between Dec. 23-30, according to DPH’s preliminary data.
