It's Now 2 Highway Light Poles Knocked Down In 2 Weeks In Manchester
The latest crash on a stretch of highway in Manchester left a light polce down and grass on fire.

MANCHESTER, CT — For the second time in about two weeks — and at roughly the same time of the night — a single-vehicle crash has taken out a light pole in a highway accident in Manchester.
The latest took place Saturday at 8 p.m. on the westbound side of Interstate 84 on the 60/62 off-ramp.
The vehicle left the highway and rolled over, severing a light pole, fire officials said.

It also started a grass fire, which was quickly extinguished, fire officials said.
The single occupant of the vehicle was evaluated by fire department paramedics and ultimately refused transportation, fire officials said.

The ramp remained closed for a short period of time while the vehicle was removed and CT DOT evaluated the damage.
On Nov. 27, again at about 8 p.m,., a car took out a highway light stanchion and then left a path of misery behind it in Manchester, fire officials said.
Manchester fire officials said that crews responded to the eastbound side of Interstate 84 in the area of exit 63 for a single-car accident that n ight. A car had veered off the pavement and toppled a light pole after slamming into it, fire officials said.
One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.
Several other vehicles sustained tire damage from debris in the road as a result of the crash, fire officials said. The pole landed on top of the car and was partially in the road and the light was shattered, images from thew scene show.
