MANCHESTER, CT — A CT Lottery player from Manchester has won what is arguably one of the most lucrative — and practical — prizes available.

On Wednesday, a player from Manchester named "Ernest D" cashed in a winning ticket from the Lucky For Life game.

It hit for the $25,000 for life payout, the second-highest payout in the game.

The ticket was purchased at Alltown Fresh Bolton in Bolton Notch.

Lucky for Life costs $2 to play and drawings take place nightly. Players — or a CT Lottery terminal's Quick Pick option — choose five different "white" ball numbers from 1 to 48, and one "yellow" Lucky Ball number from 1 to 18.

Luicky for Life carries a top prize of $365,000 a year for life, along with nine other prize levels from $3 up to $25,000 a year for life.
