MANCHESTER, CT — The traditional Memorial Day parade and services are on tap the the holiday weekend in Manchester.

Manchester's Memorial Day observance will begin with a church service and massing of the colors at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St., on Sunday, May 26, at 10 a.m.

The Rev. Dr. Peter Kim will be officiating the service.

The annual Manchester Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 27, at 9:30 a.m. The parade route will begin at the Army and Navy Club, 1090 Main St., turn east on East Center St., and then turn west at Nate Agostinelli Veterans Memorial Park, and will conclude at the Center Memorial Park for a Memorial Day Program to honor fallen veterans.

In the event the parade is cancelled due to inclement weather, the Center Memorial Park Program will be held indoors at The Salvation Army, 661 Main St.

Town of Manchester offices will be closed on May 27 for the Memorial Day Holiday. Trash will not be collected Monday and will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

The Manchester Public Library will be closed on Friday May 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m and open from 1 to5 p.m. The library will be closed for the Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 25, and Monday May 27.
