Manchester Rotary Club Announces Engraved Brick Program

Manchester Rotary Club has started a fundraiser for engraved bricks to be placed by the central patio area at the Rose Music Garden.

From The Manchester Rotary Club: The Manchester Rotary Club, in its sponsorship of the Rotary Music Garden at Charter Oak Park, and as part of its overall fundraising effort for the Rotary Music Garden, has announced the sale of engraved bricks. The bricks will be 8” by 8”square, sandstone colored that will comprise the six spokes surrounding the central patio area of the Rotary Music Garden. Each brick can be engraved with up to six lines, 18 characters per line. A total of 486 bricks will be sold, at a price of $125 per brick.

In addition to the bricks, the Rotary Music Garden project is being funded through the sponsorship of individual instruments and benches, donations from the Rotary Foundation, and special events. On Saturday May 6th, a gala, fund raising event will be held at Cheney Hall, featuring Wild Heart, A Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac tribute band.

The Rotary Music Garden will consist of 9 full size, all-weather musical instruments produced by Freenotes Harmony Park out of Durango, Colorado. The Rotary Music Garden is laid out in a park-like setting with walking paths and a central patio area. Benches are placed both in the central patio area and at each instrument. Children, teens and their families will enjoy this area for individual and group expression and community programming Dedication and opening ceremonies are planned for July, and special musical events, incorporating the Rotary Music Garden instruments, are being planned by the Manchester Symphony Orchestra and other community organizations.
