Meet Connecticut's Canine Officers: Dakota Of The Manchester PD

The latest segment in a Patch series presenting an up-close look at the dogs who serve.

MANCHESTER, CT — This month's segment in a Patch series on dogs who serve the community takes an up-close glance at canine officer Dakota of the Manchester Police Department.

Dakota, who will celebrate his third birthday in 2025, is a German Shepherd who serves as an integral part of the Manchester Police Department.

Most recently, he became certified in illicit narcotics as well as maintains certifications as a patrol detection dog through the Connecticut State Police.

The resume of Dakota and handler Officer Corey Fullana is rapidly growing and includes recognition with the Stephen Davis Handler of the Year Award in 2024.

The duo has competed at the Connecticut Canine Olympics which is a yearly event staged in Enfield that features canines from all over the state with competitions featuring different disciplines.

Dakota and Fullana have had several successful tracks and drug seizures, including assists with other local agencies.
