Pedestrian Killed In Collision With Vehicle In Manchester

Manchester police Tuesday were piecing together the details of a fatal crash in the Buckland Hills area of town.

MANCHESTER, CT — A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a vehicle in the Buckland Hills section of Manchester and part of Buckland Hills Drive was closed overnight Monday into Tuesday, police said.

Manchester police said the crash took place at 9:56 p.m. along the 300 block of Buckland Hills Drive.

Responders located Jaime Cordero, a 45-year-old Manchester resident, lying in the road, according to a preliminary crash report. Life-saving measures were administered, but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, according to the report.

The driver of the involved vehicle, an 18-year-old man, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The road was closed until about 5:40 a.m. from The Pavilions apartment complex to Slater Street, police said.
