Police: Highway Crash Ends in Motel 6 Parking Lot
The Vernon man was traveling on I-84 in Manchester when he veered off the road.

A 37-year-old Vernon man and his dog experienced quite the crash on Wednesday night.
At approximately 11:49 p.m., the man was traveling on I-84 eastbound in the right travel lane in Manchester, approximately 736 feet west of the Vernon town line.
He veered right and knocked down a light pole off the right shoulder, continued forward, and vaulted a chain link fence and metal beam guide rail that border the limited access highway and the Motel 6 that is located off the highway.

His vehicle then struck another vehicle, which was parked in the Motel 6 parking lot. This impact pushed the second vehicle into another vehicle, also parked in the Motel 6 parking lot. Both of the vehicles in the parking lot were unoccupied.
The Vernon man was transported to St. Francis Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The dog was transported to the vet by the Vernon Animal Control Officer for treatment of apparent minor injuries.
The man was issued an infraction for failure to maintain established lane and failure to wear a seat belt.
