Update: Manchester Police Update Search for Possibly Armed Man

Police have been searching for Luis Rolon since an incident at his home on Friday afternoon.

Manchester police do not believe that Luis Rolon is in the Spring Street area anymore.

On Saturday morning, Manchester Police Department Capt. Christopher Davis said that the search for Rolon continued until around 10:30 p.m., when the department was confident that it had thoroughly searched the area, as well as receiving updated information that he was no longer in the area.

His name and photo have been distributed in an effort to generate more leads on his whereabouts, however at this time the department does not believe that he is still in the Spring Street area. Davis said that there is no continued cause for concern for residents there.

There will also be extra patrols in the area today to help ease some concerns.

Davis said that he does not believe that Rolon is in the immediate area right now, but that the department is continuing its investigative efforts to locate him.

On Friday, the department was receiving information that made officials believe Rolon was potentially in a wooded area on Spring Street. The department utilized numerous resources, including Trooper 1, the Capital Region Emergency Services Team, and Metro Traffic Services in an attempt to locate him.

Davis said that as the department filtered through the information in an effort to determine its credibility, he also requested that Charter Oak Park be closed to activities while the search was conducted.

The department also broadcast a reverse 911 call to area residents to let them know of the situation.

Police are looking for a possibly armed - and dangerous - Manchester man.

The department is actively searching for Luis Rolon, 31, of 189 Eldridge St. Police say Rolon was involved in an incident at that address around 3 p.m. on Friday, and was in possession of a handgun.

Rolon fled the area and is currently being sought by police. An extensive search of the area was conducted by Manchester police officers with the assistance of the Connecticut State Police – Trooper 1, the Capital Region Emergency Services Team, as well as Metro Traffic Services.

NBC Connecticut is reporting that the search is ongoing in the area of Spring Street, near Route 83. A command center has been established at the Water and Sewer department at 125 Spring St.

Rolon should be considered armed and dangerous and residents should not approach him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Manchester Police Department at 860-645-5500. All calls can remain anonymous.
