Report: Ice Falling on Meter Starts Natural Gas Fire Displacing 12 in Manchester
The fire in the East Village of the Pavillions apartment complex on Buckland Hills Drive resulted in no injuries.

A fire Sunday displaced a dozen residents of a building in the East Village of the Pavillions apartment complex on Buckland Hills Drive in Manchester, the Hartford Courant reported.
Ice falling from the roof hit a gas meter, starting the fire, said Eighth Utilities District Fire Chief Don Moore, according to the report. He said firefighters poured water on the building until the gas line could be shut off, then quickly put out the flames.
The American Red Cross Connecticut chapter arranged for temporary housing for the displaced residents at a local hotel.
