Sobriety Checkpoint to be Held Friday in Manchester

The checkpoint will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and will run until 2 a.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, the Manchester Police Department, in conjunction with Metro Traffic Services, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint.

The checkpoint will be on Main Street between Park Street and St. James Street and will run from 8 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday.

Officers will be looking for drivers who are impaired and unsafe to drive.

This effort is funded through matching grants provided by the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration, in conjunction with the Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Officer DUI Enforcement Grant Program.
