Manchester CT Jazz Fest is part of global network of jazz festival organizers and enthusiasts
This Sunday, April 30 is International Jazz Day. One of the participating organizations celebrating everything jazz is the Manchester CT Jazz Fest. The 8th annual fest is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2023. In-person ticket-holders will enjoy a very unique and intimate winter jazz fest experience inside historic circa 1867 Cheney Hall at 177 Hartford Road. Cheney Hall is Connecticut's oldest operating theater. Remote, online tickets will also be available, giving the jazz fest an unlimited, global reach.
Dr. Ken Wichman, Founder of the Manchester Jazz Fest, is a native and lifetime resident of Manchester. After graduating from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, he practiced podiatry until 2014. He is now semi-retired focusing on home-bound patients. Ken has a love of music and for the community, serving as a long-time volunteer at the Manchester Road Race.
Alex Nakhimovsky, Musical Director, is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music. Heavily influenced by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, Alex enjoys a versatile career as a performer, recording artist, producer, composer and educator.

Past Manchester CT Jazz Fest performers include Eric Alexander, Karriyn Allyson, Jonathan Blake, Brubeck Brothers, Abraham Burton, Brian Charette, Rob Gottfried, Willie Jones III, Sheila Jordan, John Patitucci, Valery Ponomarev, Avery Sharpe, Yotam Silberstein and Sachal Vasandani.
