With a Little Help From Patch, Simsbury Man Recovers Bike Stolen From Buckland Hills Mall
Tommy McCully says he is grateful for all the help he received that led to the return of his stolen motorcycle.

Most stories like Tommy McCully's don't usually have a happy ending.Â
But, after after he went there to meet prospective buyers and then contacting Patch to help him notarize the theft, McCully says his stolen bike "is now back in my possession and for the most part is in one piece."
After contacting Manchester Patch Editor David Moran, who posted his story on the site and arranged for it to be run on several other Patch sites in the area, McCully, a Simsbury resident, says he also placed an add on Craigslist regarding his stolen bike.Â

"I figured that most stories like this never have a follow up or happy ending," McCully wrote to Patch in an email. "But someone who knew the guy that stole my bike had overheard him bragging about the bike being stolen and the situation sounded very familiar to how I had described it on Craigslist. The anonymous source provided me with the suspects information, which I relayed to the police."
McCully said Manchester Police used the information to recover his bike essentially not much worse for wear.Â

"It will need some repair, but I am just glad to have it back and not chopped up into a million pieces," he said.Â
As for the thief? McCully said, "there is still a long legal process to follow, but I believe he will receive what he deserves."
McCully said he would also like to thank the and the detectives that worked on his case that helped recover the bike.Â
