Afternoon, Evening Classes at UConn Cancelled

Due to inclement weather, the University of Connecticut Storrs campus has cancelled all afternoon and evening classes that begin at 3 p.m. or later, according to a weather alert on the UConn Web site.

The National Weather Service is calling for snow before 4 p.m., with snow and sleet between 4 and 5 p.m. That could be followed by freezing rain and sleet, with daytime accumulation of 1 to 2 inches, the service added.
