E.O. Smith Runners Win State Titles At CIAC Indoor Track Championships
A distance runner and a pair of relay teams brought home state crowns from the CIAC Class L indoor track and field championships Tuesday.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A distance runner and a pair of relay teams from E.O. Smith High School brought home state titles for the Panthers at the CIAC Class L indoor track and field championships Tuesday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
Senior Jordan Stygar won the girls 3,200 meter run in 11:22.63, more than eight seconds faster than her closest competitor. The girls 4 x 400 relay team of Natalia Anagnostou, Emerson Whalen, Aris Roane and Madeline Doran also emerged victorious, covering the distance in 4:10.83.
The Panthers compiled 35 points to place sixth among the 20 teams which scored points. Windsor won the division for the ninth straight season with a whopping 93 points.

On the boys' side, the 4 x 800 relay team of Alex Cook, Jason Cao, Spencer Slayton and Enzo Vertefeuille won its race, finishing in 8:18.80. The boys team had 17 points to place ninth among 21 teams which scored.
