UPDATE: Victim in Fatal Mansfield Crash Identified

The victim died when his car struck a large tree late Wednesday, according to state police.

Update: 11:05 a.m.

A 47-year-old Storrs man has been identified as the victim who died when his 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo slammed into a tree on Route 195 in Mansfield late Wednesday.

According to Connecticut State Police, the driver lost control of the car and then struck a large tree in front of 412 Storrs Rd. about 10:30 p.m. Nov. 11. Paramedics and the Mansfield Fire Department also responded to the scene where the sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead, according to police.

The driver was identified as John J. Trudeau of 753 Storrs Rd., Mansfield.

State Police are investigating a single car crash that fatally injured a man on Route 195 in Mansfield about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday

Police said the crash happened near Mountain Road and the man, whose car struck a tree, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to NBC Connecticut.
