Mansfield's Pistol Permit Rate: 1.9 Percent

A total of 510 Mansfield residents have obtained pistol permits, equating to a pistol permit rate of 1.9 percent, according to a state-wide database created by the New Haven Register.

The database uses information from the State of Connecticut and 2010 population data to map out pistol permit rates by town. Mansfield ranks 167th on the list of 169 towns.

Canaan and Union take the top spots on the database, with respective pistol permit rates of 13.5 and 12.1 percent.

Around 170,000 Connecticut residents have pistol permits, according to the New Haven Register.
