Middlebury Couple Donates $1 Million to UConn's Waterbury Campus
The donation will fund the Reed fellowship, which supports curriculum development.

A $1 million donation from a Middlebury couple to the University of Connecticut Waterbury campus will fund the Reed Fellowship, the Republican-American reports.
The fellowship established by Dr. David and Joan Reed will support curriculum development.
According to the paper, David Reed, a graduate of the University of Connecticut had a medical practice in Waterbury and then worked at Alliance Medical Group in Middlebury. After retiring, Reed taught courses at the university’s Osher LIfelong Learning Institute.

Vice Provost Sally Reis told the paper annual interest from Reed’s endowment will allow the fellowship to continue into perpetuity. The first recipient for the fellowship will be selected in the Spring.
