Moped Driver Seriously Injured In Crash In Mansfield: State Police
State police said the moped driver "was suspected of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol."

MANSFIELD, CT — A man driving a moped was seriously injured after being involved in a crash, state police said.
State police said an Ashford resident was traveling on a moped in the right shoulder northbound on Storrs Road (Route 195) in Mansfield Sunday evening.
"Operator 2 failed to stop for a red traffic control signal at the intersection of Bassetts Bridge Rd." state police wrote. "Vehicle 2 traveled through the intersection and struck Vehicle 1 (a Volvo) and came to (a) final rest in the approximate midline of Bassetts Bridge Rd."

The driver of the Volvo declined medical attention and during their investigation, state police said the moped driver "was suspected of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol."
The moped driver was taken to the hospital and the crash remains under investigation.
