Sarah Strong Named 2025 USA 3x3 Female Athlete of the Year
Sarah Strong competed with the USA 3x3 Women's National Team at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia last summer.
STORRS, CT — UConn women’s basketball sophomore forward Sarah Strong was named the 2025 USA 3x3 Female Athlete of the Year, as announced by USA Basketball Wednesday.
Strong competed with the USA 3x3 Women’s National Team at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia last summer. The youngest player on Team USA, Strong averaged 7.6 points (fourth in the tournament) and 7.8 rebounds (first in the tournament) as the United States finished with a 4-1 record.
Strong was also named to the 2025 USA 3x3 Women’s Series Team, competing at the Marseille and Ulaanbaatar stops last summer. The Americans finished with a 4-1 record at each stop.

A native of Durham, N.C., Strong captured gold medals at the 2022 and 2023 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cups for the United States, and again in 2024, when she added a FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup title to her collection.
