Volunteers Needed To Help Search CT Forest For Missing Woman

CONNECTICUT — A community search team is being organized to help scour the Natchaug State Forest for a missing Mansfield woman this weekend.

State police said Friday afternoon that Anne Marie Pappalardo, 61, is still missing.

She was last seen this past Sunday, Oct. 26.

“Efforts to locate her are continuing,” state police said, via email Friday. “We do not have the exact details of what that looks like at this time as the investigation remains active.”

Police earlier this week had asked the public to initially avoid the park, so K9 teams could more easily conduct a search.

However, the woman’s friends and family announced on Facebook Thursday that they are organizing a community search team in the park to help locate her, and they need volunteers.

“We need assistance with searching on foot this upcoming weekend,” the announcement says.

They also are asking for anyone who can help with drones, planes, dives and search dogs.

Police have described the missing woman as white, with brown hair and green eyes. She is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and weighs 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black vest, black leggings, and brown boots.

Natchaug State Forest has thousands of acres of woodlands, and it is located in the northeastern section of the state.
