2 Arrested In Sexual, Physical Abuse Of Children: Meriden Police
Two people have been arrested in connection with the sexual and physical abuse of multiple children, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — Two people have been arrested in connection with the sexual and physical abuse of multiple children, according to police.
Police said the Meriden Police Special Crimes Unit launched an investigation into “multiple allegations of sexual abuse as well as physical abuse to multiple children” that dated back to November 2023.
The two suspects were identified as Dorcas Otero, 31, and 29-year-old Quintin Jones, according to police.

Police said the victims were between the ages of 4 and 9 at the time of the crimes.
Otero and Jones were arrested on warrants on Sept. 5, according to police.

Jones was charged with first-degree sexual assault, three counts of risk of injury to a child, and two counts of cruelty to persons. He was being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Otero was charged with two counts each of risk of injury to a child and cruelty to persons. She was being held in lieu of a $300,000 bond.
“We at the Meriden Police Department are wholeheartedly committed to protecting children,” police wrote in a news release. “We understand the impact of these crimes and we work with partner agencies to help provide services to the affected victims and their families. We appreciate the victim’s bravery and cooperation in this case which likely resulted in the prevention of future crimes against children. It is the policy of the Meriden Police Department to fully investigate every allegation of crimes against children that is brought to our organization.”
