3 Charged In Shooting In Meriden: Police

The men were arrested on warrants, and police said two of the men were taken into custody in North Carolina.

MERIDEN, CT — Three men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Meriden last August, according to police.

Police responded around 11:50 p.m. on Aug. 5 to MidState Medical Center on the report of a gunshot victim receiving medical treatment. Police determined that the shooting happened in the road in the 500 block of North Colony Road in Meriden.

Officers responded to North Colony Road and found several shell casings, according to police.

After a lengthy investigation, police said arrest warrants were obtained for three men in connection with the incident.

The men were identified as Geovanni Nunez-Guerrera, 21, Steven Leclaire, 22, and 39-year-old Antonio Holley, according to police.

Police said Nunez-Guerrera was taken into custody by the Windsor Police Department on Jan. 30 and brought to the Meriden Police Department.

Nunez-Guerrera was charged with first-degree assault, criminal possession of a pistol, criminal use of a weapon, carrying a pistol without a permit, violation of a protective order, and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was released after posting a $200,000 bond with a court date of April 8. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to state judicial records.

Leclaire and Holley were both arrested Jan. 31 in Greensboro, North Carolina on extraditable arrest warrants from Meriden, according to police. Both waived extradition and were brought back to Meriden on Feb. 20, police said.

Leclaire was charged with criminal attempt at first-degree assault, criminal use of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence, and interfering with an officer. He was being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond with a court date of March 19.

Holley was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, tampering with physical evidence, and third-degree hindering prosecution. He was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond with a court date of March 12.
