Back To School: Meriden 2025-26 School Calendar

Summer is coming to a close, and here are some of the important 2025-26 school year dates to get on the calendar.

MERIDEN, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Meriden, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Meriden Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The first day of school for most students in Meriden is Wednesday, Aug. 27.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

  • First Day: Aug. 27
  • Labor Day, no school: Sept. 1
  • Columbus Day, no school: Oct. 13
  • Election Day, no school: Nov. 4
  • Veterans Day, no school: Nov. 11
  • Thanksgiving Recess, no school: Nov. 27-28
  • Holiday Recess, no school: Dec. 24 – Jan. 2
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Jan. 19
  • Presidents’ Day / Winter Vacation, no school: Feb. 16-17
  • Good Friday, no school: April 3
  • Spring Vacation, no school: April 13-17
  • Memorial Day, no school: May 25
  • Projected Last Student Day: June 10
  • Juneteenth, district will be closed: June 19

Note: Snow make-up days will be scheduled at the end of the school year in June. If all snow days cannot be made up in June, the additional days will be subtracted from the Spring Vacation, starting at the end of that week. High school graduation dates will be determined at the second Board meeting in April. Teachers' last workday is the same as students' last school day.
