Bartolomeo to Visit Meriden Elementary School Before Making School Safety Recommendations
Meriden senator was recently appointed to the school safety subcommittee of the legislature's bipartisan Task Force on Gun Violence Prevention and Children's Safety.

State Sen. Dante Bartolomeo (D-12th) will tour Roger Sherman Elementary School in Meriden next week to gain insight and advice from parents, school officials, law enforcement and others as lawmakers work to respond to the Newtown tragedy.
Bartolomeo, who also represents voters in Cheshire, Middletown and Middlefield, was recently appointed to the school safety subcommittee of the legislature's Bipartisan Task Force on Gun Violence Prevention and Children's Safety.

The group will review current state law and make recommendations on gun control, school security and mental health services.
Bartolomeo's school tour begins Monday when she plans to visit Farm Hill Elementary School in Middletown at 1 p.m.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, she will will tour Roger Sherman Elementary School in Meriden at 1:30 p.m.
A week later, on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 1:30 p.m., Bartolomeo plans to visit Dodd Middle School in Cheshire.
Bartolomeo will use some of the input she receives from these school tours to make legislative recommendations to the task force, according to a press release from her office.
The dates, times and places of the tours are as follows:
- Monday, January 28, 1 p.m., Farm Hill Elementary School, 390 Ridge Road, Middletown
- Wednesday, January 30, 1:30 p.m., Roger Sherman Elementary School, 64 North Pearl Street, Meriden
- Wednesday, February 6, 1:30 p.m., Dodd Middle School, 100 Park Place, Cheshire
