Hello from Meriden Patch! Today is July 24, 2013.
1. "42: The Jackie Robinson Story." Enjoy a movie night with the family as Meriden Public Library transforms the Griffin Room into a movie center. The event is free and begins at 6 p.m.
2. More into music than movies? No problem. At 7 p.m., head to downtown Meriden for a night of tunes with Hector Cardona and the Family Trio. The event will take place as part of the Summer Concert Series at Meriden Center Courtyard.
3. Later Today on Meriden Patch: Tasers have been the center of controversy in recent years due to an increase in deaths as a result of excited delirium, but new research is showing a different reason for these deaths. See how police are working to change the way they respond and keep residents alive.
