The Community Guidance Clinic for Central Connecticut

Under Our New Name the Agency Continues to Provide Mental Health Services to Community Families!

For nearly 70 years, the Child Guidance Clinic for Central Connecticut has served as a valuable resource to the greater Meriden area, providing comprehensive mental health evaluations and treatment, crisis interventions, and outreach services to children, adolescents, and their families. Our clinic offers outpatient behavioral health services for persons ages four through adult.

In July of 2023 when the agency expanded its reach by offering services to both children and adults, it was decided we needed a new name to better reflect our service population. It was at that time the Child Guidance Clinic for Central Connecticut officially became the Community Guidance Clinic for Central Connecticut. Although it’s just a slight change, embracing the word ‘community’ in our title seemed like the perfect fit.

If you’re currently in need of services, our agency’s Outpatient Program is here to help and has immediate openings available. Our staff are trained in numerous evidenced-based models to help each family member improve their emotional well-being by developing new skills to assist them on their life’s journey.

Comprehensive mental health and case management services are offered in both English and Spanish to better accommodate the area’s large Hispanic population, with Spanish-speaking staff available to clients at every level of care. Our agency also has an American Sign Language (ASL) therapist available to provide services for the deaf and hearing impaired.

Our Staff have expertise in providing trauma-informed care, assisting children and adults who have been impacted by a variety of traumatic events. These include physical or emotional abuse, exposure to violence, natural disasters, or even the loss of friend or family member.
