Driver Killed In Rollover Crash On I-91 In Meriden: State Police
The crash happened late Sunday night on I-91 in Meriden, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A New Haven man was killed in a rollover crash late Sunday night on I-91 in Meriden, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash happened around 11:25 p.m. near Exit 19 on I-91 South, according to police.
Police said the driver of a 2023 Kia Niro that was registered to Avis Car Rental veered into the left shoulder “for an unknown reason” and entered the grassy median.

The Kia then rolled over and crashed into a tree stump, according to police.
Police said the driver, identified as 31-year-old Charles B. Davenport, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact Trooper Michael Dean at 860-534-1098 or email Michael.dean@ct.gov. Anyone with a dashcam who was driving through the area at the time is also asked to contact Dean.
