Flash Flood Warning Issued For Fairfield/New Haven County By National Weather Service
A warning has been issued by the National Weather Service.
UPDATE: The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a flash flood warning for southern Fairfield County until 7:15 p.m.
* At 543 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include: Stamford, New Canaan, Greenwich, Hawthorne, Pleasantville, Armonk and Thornwood.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for northwestern New Haven County and north central Fairfield County in southern Connecticut until 5:30 p.m.
"At 326 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," according to the weather service.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include: Waterbury, Meriden, Middletown, Wallingford, Shelton, Naugatuck, Southbury, Wolcott, Newtown, Hamden, Cheshire, North Haven, Monroe, Seymour, Prospect, Woodbridge, Middlebury, Beacon Falls, Bethany and Middlefield.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include: Danbury, Southbury, Lake Carmel, Sherman, Newtown, Bethel, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Carmel, Fahnestock State Park, Patterson, Putnam Lake and Brewster Hill.
