The Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center Earn 'A' Grades for Hospital Safety from The Leapfrog Group

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center each earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2025 from The Leapfrog Group, a national
nonprofit watchdog organization.
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on
more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well
as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“Earning an ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group reflects our unwavering commitment to quality and safety,” said Gina Coleman, President of Hartford HealthCare’s Central Region. “Our colleagues at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and MidState Medical Center continuously strive to provide the safest and highest-quality care for every patient, every day. This recognition is a testament to their dedication, expertise, and compassion.”
