Large Water Main Break Reported In Meriden: Officials
Officials are advising motorists to avoid the area.

UPDATE (7:45 p.m.): The broken valve, which was the cause of this morning’s water main break, in front of 733 East Main St., has been repaired.
City officials expect water service to be fully restored to homes and businesses in the area within the next hour or two.
If, when you turn your water back on, it appears to be dirty, you are advised to run the cold water in your bathtub for a few minutes until it clears up.

UPDATE (as of 5:45 p.m., via City of Meriden): Repairs continue to be made as a result of a water main break, in front of 733 East Main St. (TD Bank), that was reported at approximately 11:30 Thursday morning.

(Original post) MERIDEN, CT — A large water main break was reported at 733 East Main St., in the area of TD Bank, around 11:30 a.m. in Meriden, according to officials.
Crews were still working at the scene around 12 noon.
One lane is closed, and officials are advising motorists to avoid the area.
