MERIDEN, CT — The Maloney football team defeated city rival Platt 42-13 in the annual Stoddard Bowl game on Thanksgiving morning.

It was the sixth straight Stoddard Bowl victory for Maloney, which leads the series 36-30-1.

The Spartans were led by quarterback Eli Showerda, who threw for three touchdowns, and an opportunistic defense that returned two interceptions for scores, according to GameTimeCT.
