Man Burglarized Laundromat In Meriden: Police
The man is accused of burglarizing a laundromat in Meriden, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A man is accused of burglarizing a laundromat early Saturday morning in Meriden, according to police.
Police responded around 12:25 a.m. on Dec. 21 to the Trade Winds Laundromat at 334 Liberty St. on the report of a burglary alarm.
The complainant told officers that a previous worker had left the front door of the business unlocked when he left for the night, according to police.

While reviewing the surveillance video, officers saw a man arrive at the laundromat’s front door around 12:15 a.m. on a black mountain bike.
Police said the man then entered the laundromat and walked through the aisles.

Video footage showed the man walk toward the coin machine and try to open the coin slot, according to police.
Police said the man hit the front of the machine with an unidentified object multiple times, but couldn’t open it.
The man then entered the office at the back of the business, and looked through the drawers of the desk inside the room, according to police.
Police said video surveillance showed the man walk out of the office without taking any items, and walk toward the front of the business.
As the suspect walked toward the front of the business, police said he grabbed what appeared to be a green/gray plastic bag filled with unidentified items from the top of a washer and leave the laundromat around 12:25 a.m.
While at the scene, police said additional officers found and detained a suspect matching the man’s description in the area of Pratt and Cedar Street.
The suspect was later identified as 32-year-old Brandon Scozzari, according to police.
Police said Scozzari was found to be in the possession of two knives, a glass pipe, and a small amount of crack cocaine.
Scozzari was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, carrying a dangerous weapon, and use of drug paraphernalia. He was held in lieu of a $35,000 bond with a court date of Jan. 6.
