Mental Health Services for Children & Adults in Meriden, CT

Servicing the community in English & Spanish, the Community Guidance Clinic for Central CT is here to help!

If you’re in Meriden and passing by the corner of Pratt & Camp Streets, you might spot a big brick building on the corner called the ‘Community Guidance Clinic for Central Connecticut’ wondering “what’s that?”.

Our clinic has been operating for nearly 70 years, providing a valuable resource to the greater Meriden area, offering comprehensive mental health evaluations and treatment, crisis interventions, and outreach services to children, adolescents, and their families. Outpatient behavioral health services are available for persons ages four through adult.

If you’re currently in need of services, our agency’s Outpatient Program is here to help and has immediate openings available. Our staff are trained in numerous evidenced-based models to help each family member improve their emotional well-being by developing new skills to assist them on their life’s journey.

Comprehensive mental health services, including psychiatry, are offered in both English and Spanish to better accommodate the area’s large Hispanic population, with Spanish-speaking staff available to clients at every level of care. Our agency also has an American Sign Language (ASL) therapist available to provide services for the deaf and hearing impaired.

Our Staff have expertise in providing trauma-informed care, assisting children and adults who have been impacted by a variety of traumatic events. These include physical or emotional abuse, exposure to violence, natural disasters, or even the loss of friend or family member.
