Meriden Police Blotter: Drug Arrests Made in Separate Police Investigations

A busy several days for Meriden officers and detectives netted several arrests for drug charges, as well as multiple other reported arrests and citations. Take a look back at the latest arrest logs.
The Meriden Police Department reported the following arrests:
June 30
Cora Williams, 20, of 14 Clover St. in Middletown, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, July 30.
July 1
Jose D. Rios, 47, of 24 Markham Place in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct, July 1.
Jessica L. Macomber, 20, of 63 N. First St. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct, July 1.
Deana Jones, 28, of 290 Oak St. in Holyoke, Mass., was charged with misuse of plates, unsafe backing and operating a motor vehicle without a license, July 1.
Ryan Gaudet, 26, of 834 Paddock Ave. in Meriden, was charged with disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order, July 1.
Manuel Catalan, 40, of 1432 Ella Grasso Boulevard in New Haven, was charged with misuse of plates, failure to insure motor vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle, July 1.
Christopher Jones, 28, of 5 Washington Ave. in Meriden, was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, July 1.
Zane Alexander Ruzzi, 19, of 70 Winding Ridge in Southington, was charged with possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, possession of drugs near a prohibited place and illegal storage of narcotics, July 1.
July 2
Mahmood Al-Samawi, 26, of 265 Tremont St. in Meriden, was charged with risk of injury to a minor and third-degree larceny, July 2.
David Ortega, 27, of 167 Oxbow Road in Meriden, was charged with third-degree assault, reckless driving and interfering with police, July 2.
Chandi Marie Mills, 32, of 278 New Have Ave. in Waterbury, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, July 2.
Andrew Enrique Ortiz, of 1045 Old Colony Road in Meriden, was charged with violation of probation, first-degree failure to appear and two counts of second-degree failure to appear, July 2.
Efrain Rodriguez, 27, of 187 Crown St. in Meriden, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession with the intent to sell, interfering with a police officer, criminal attempt to commit sale of narcotics and reckless driving, July 2.
Other stats from reported traffic stops and incidents:
- Eight people were cited with speeding/traveling too fast.
- Two people were cited with failure to obey stop sign/traffic signal.
- Two people were cited with following too close.
- Two people were cited with simple trespassing.
- Two people were cited with operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
- Two people were cited with operating a motor vehicle without a license.
- One person was cited with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
- One person was cited with failure to renew license.
- One person was cited with failure to carry registration.
- One person was cited with failure to vaccinate a dog.
- One person was cited with failure to insure motor vehicle.
- One person was cited with failure to receive DMV tint certification.
- One person was cited with creating a public disturbance.
- One person was cited with failure to secure load.
- One person was cited with driving with a cracked windshield.
- One person was cited with improper parking.
- One person was cited with making a restricted turn.
- One person was cited with public drinking.
- One person was cited with unsafe movement of a motor vehicle.
