Obituary: Smith “Earl” “Leo” Leary, 56, of Meriden
Earl, a decorated athlete, excelling in track, football and basketball, was skilled in both carpentry and mechanics.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home) Smith “Earl” “Leo” Leary, 56, passed away on July 16, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Ahoskie, NC, on August 21, 1964. Earl graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1983, where he loved athletics.
He excelled in track, football and basketball.
Earl made a career working with his hands, especially in carpentry and mechanics.
He was a man of god and was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Meriden.Earl is survived by his mother Mary Bunch Wright and her husband John H. Wright, Jr.; father figure Rev. Kenneth Jeffre Graham, Sr.; and siblings Lonnie Leary and his wife Melba, Mary Ann Bunch, David Leon Bunch, Kenneth Jeffre Graham, Jr., and Michael Graham.
He was predeceased by his brother Marvin Graham.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Earl’s family on Monday, July, 26th from 3:00 to 6:00PM at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
Masks are required for those not fully vaccinated.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
