Obituary: Antonetta Russo, 78, of Meriden
Antonetta worked for the Napier Co. and Eyelet Specialty Co. until retirement and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
MERIDEN, CT - (From Meriden Funeral Home) Antonetta Russo, 78, of Meriden, loving wife of the late Angelo Russo, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her home, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Antonetta was born in Italy, July 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Giuseppe DeCristofaro and Rosa (Marra) DeCristofaro and had been a Meriden resident for many years.
Antonetta was employed by the Napier Co. and Eyelet Specialty Co. until her retirement and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
She is survived by devoted children, Filomena Russo, Joseph (Sabrina) Russo, Rosa (Brian) Ranno, Enza (Giuseppe) Maiorano, Giovanni (Nicole) Russo, Tony Russo; 14 cherished grandchildren Nicholas, David, Christopher, Jeffrey, Victoria, Michael, Lillian, Pasquale, Angelo, Angelina, Joseph Jr., Stephanie, Vincenzo, and Giovanni Jr.; her great-granddaughter Aurora; her sister Pasqualina (Nicola) Scaramuzzo; many nieces; and nephews
She was predeceased by her son Diamonte Russo; and her sisters Fortunata DeCristofaro and Agnes Colapietro.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, from the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home at 9 a.m., when the funeral procession will proceed to Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church), where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Entombment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum.
