Obituary: Gordon R. Gottlieb, 70, Of Meriden

A career tractor trailer driver for 45 years, he was an avid motorcycle rider and very proud of his 1976 Harley Davidson Shovelhead.

MERIDEN, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Gordon R. Gottlieb, 70, of Meriden, husband of Melanie (Wilson) Gottlieb for 48 years, passed away March 29, 2024 at Hartford Hospital.

Gordon was born in Willimantic on October 31, 1953, a son of the late David and Yvonne (Lavigne) Gottlieb.

Gordon was a career tractor trailer driver retiring after 45 years. He was an avid motorcycle rider and very proud of his 1976 Harley Davidson Shovelhead.

In addition to his wife, Melanie, he is survived by his daughter, Kelly DeForest and her husband, Chip, his grandsons, Dalton and Garrett DeForest; his sisters, Harriett Gottlieb, Norma Brown and her husband, Mark, and Laura Moore and her husband, Greg; and many nieces and nephews.

Gordon’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Northford Cemetery will be private.
