Obituary: India W. Cruz, 78, of Meriden
India, a devoted wife, mother, nana and friend, worked as an Executive Secretary for the State of Connecticut Public Defender's Office.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) With broken hearts the family of India W. Cruz, 78, of Meriden, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at MidState Medical Center.
She was the wife of the late John Cruz and an awesome mother, nana and friend. She was always there for love, help, hugs and kisses, and never sent anyone away.
She was born in Kissimmee, FL, October 18, 1943, a daughter of the late Keith and Rosemary Webber.
She had several jobs in her life including: waitressing, driving dump trucks for her dad, working for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and finally as an Executive Secretary for the State of Connecticut Public Defender’s Office for 34 years until her retirement.
She met countless interesting people in her life who she always learned from and taught them.
India is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Glendia and Peter Irish-Arrigoni; her son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Angela Irish; her grandchildren, Imogene Mendez (Pedro), Nikkole Dorau (Todd), Warren Maguire, Thomas Maguire Erwin, Cassidy Erwin, and Erwin Danielle Irish; her great grandchildren, Arrianna, Diego, Fabian, Xavier, Arwen, Brianna, Jaiden, Cameron and A.J.; her brother Keith Webber and his wife Laurie; her sister, Myrna and Russell Hamm; Dorothy Isola – her caregiver and sister of her heart; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Imogene Irish.
Her family would like to thank the staff of MidState Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion they provided.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Sunday, October 31st, from 2 to 4pm.
Interment will be private.
