Obituary: Josephine (Nati) Zukowski, 89, formerly of Meriden
Josephine, known as "a whiz on the basketball court." in her youth, was employed by the Napier Co. for over 20 years.
MERIDEN, CT - (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home) Josephine (Nati) Zukowski, 89, of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Meriden, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 22, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late John K. Zukowski, who predeceased her in 1995.
Josephine was born in Meriden, December 12, 1931, a daughter of the late Frank Nati and Catherine (Giacco) Nati and had been a Meriden resident for many years. She was a 1950 graduate of Meriden High School and was well known for her athletic ability; her high school yearbook described her as "a whiz on the basketball court."
Josephine had been employed by the Napier Co. for over 20 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Dash and her husband Jeff Terry; her son John Zukowski and his wife Edee; her cherished grandchildren Jack and Mary Zukowski, Zane Dash; her step-grandchildren Claire and Owen Terry; her sister Frances Maurizio; several nieces; and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters Theresa DeMarco and Mary Kawecki; and three brothers John, Fortunato, and Salvatore Nati.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Wednesday, September 29, from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., when the funeral procession will proceed to Sacred Heart Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at 12 p.m.
